i have a cat that i absolutely adore. when i first got her she was very quiet. over the years as she has gotten more comfortable she has become more vocal. however in the past few months she has been meowing almost nonstop at me. its only me because im the person in my household that she likes best. its become very distracting when im trying to work and it has become frustrating to a degree that i am mostly just annoyed with her.
usually shes meowing because she wants food. after i feed her she sometimes meows to come in my room but a lot of the time shes been fed and doesnt want to be in my room. she usually doesnt seem like she wants to play or be pet. she just runs back to her food bowl. i know i am feeding her enough because she is eating according to what my vet tells me to feed her.
tldr; my cat meows nonstop. shes usually been fed, doesnt want to be in my room, and doesnt seem to want attention because she just runs back to her food bowl. this is very frustrating and often interrupts my work.
what should i do? should i give her more attention despite that not seeming to be what she wants? should i just ignore her and let her meow until she gets tired? i really appreciate any advice. i like my cat and i want to feel happy and loving towards her, not annoyed like ive been lately.
