TL;DR: Husbands friends give our dog people food which gives her the runs, after I told them not to, right before I have to take her on a 2 day trip on my own with our 5 month old.
I feel very disrespected by the fact that these people completely disregarded my request, and to the detriment of my dog.
They give her cooked bones from meat after they are done eating, and it will still have some meat on it. She is not used to people food because we do not feed her people food or give her table scraps. The only people food she gets is peanut butter or cheese.
Now, getting too much people food makes her gassy (super smelly) and gives her the runs. If she eats too many bones, she sometimes throws up. (My husband used to give her bones a while ago and after she got sick a few times I drew the line.)
We are staying with his friends home for 3 days between moving houses (long story) so they are able to give her food when I am not around. But the part that upsets me the most is that I am leaving tomorrow for a 2 day road trip with my dog and 5 month old baby to our temporary home. If my dog gets the runs on a 2 day road trip and has an accident in the car then I will flip shit.
My husband is very dismissive of the issue. He says he told them not to, it isn't a big deal, and he is sure the dog will be fine, etc, etc. But he isn't the one doing this cross country trip single handedly with a baby and a possibly sick dog.
Sorry it was so long. Just needed to vent.
