We rescued our dachshund mix from a dumpster where she was found with her deceased siblings. Shes always had a weird way of drinking water but lately I've noticed it getting worse as she's becoming more active. Instead of "slurping" it up like a normal dog it's almost as if shes biting the water. And then it turns into her choking and coughing afterwards.
Nothings wrong with her mouth or tongue. She eats and licks us to death like normal.
Is there a way of maybe retraining her how to drink?
