A dear friend of mine and coworker has a sweet dog whose health is declining. She and her husband has had him for a very long time. They don’t have any children. Their dogs are their babies! They love them very much and treat them very well.
Their dog is of age and is not doing well. The vet estimates another few months left. It breaks my heart every time she gives me updates on his condition.
For those who had a fur-baby that has passed, what is the best way I could comfort my friend during this time and after he has passed? Also, what is something I shouldn’t definitely NOT do or say? I was thinking maybe a card with a little message inside since it might be difficult for her to talk about it.
