Permanently relocating to Europe (Flying through Frankfurt) with pup

Hello! Has anyone had the experience of moving to the EU and transferring through Frankfurt airport with a pet? I am looking at flights and I want to be sure that I have enough time to do everything that I need to do. It looks like I would have a 4.5 lay over in Frankfurt before flying on to Greece. I assume when I land in Germany, I would need to collect him, go through customs and check back in for my connecting domestic flight.

Does this sound like enough time to do everything that I would need to do?

Also, does Frankfurt airport have a place where I could, in between flights, take my dog out and let him stretch his legs?
