My husband and I are animal-lovers. We have 2 cats (6 years old) and a dog (4, almost 5 years old). We’re also military and move quite a bit....so we rent.
Well, we’ve fallen in love with a 4 month old pit mix. He’s adorable and we want to adopt him. I don’t know why, but I’m scared to ask our current landlord for permission to keep him! We love our current house, always pay rent on time, and we keep things tidy (I’m a clean-freak). We’ve been here for more than a year and recently signed a 1 year extension. Our current pets haven’t damaged anything.
So any advice asking for permission?
As a side note: my husband and I haven’t been able to have babies....so I think (no, I know) we see our pets as our babies. I HATE the situation of having pets and renting (limited options, expensive deposits, pet rent). This is the reason so many (especially military) pets are abandoned. We wouldn’t have to ask anyone’s permission to have a second baby (not trying to offend, just a bit of venting).
