He’s suddenly lost quite a bit of weight. He was never overweight but maybe a tiny bit on the chubbier side. I don’t remember being able to feel his spine so prominently until about 5 days ago. I can feel every single vertebra from his mid back down to his tail. He feels a little lighter when I carry him. He’s also been very quiet and passive lately & ive noticed quite a few times he’ll meow but nothing comes out. I’m not sure how to explain him acting weird other than the things above but hes not acting like his regular self.
A couple months ago one night I was petting him when he randomly stood up meowing really loud as if he was upset. This went on for a couple hours that night & he was hiding around the house and keeping to himself. Nothing like this had ever happened with him before so it was quite worrisome. After that day he was still acting sad but the loud, angry meowing stopped. This happened for about a 1 week or two so we took him to the vet where they ran a bunch of tests and they said he was fine. It died down a little but he started acting sad again a couple weeks after that, which then died down a little after that.
Fast forward to now, he’s acting the same way as the previous times, except no loud meowing, and now this time he’s lost weight.
I’m really worried because I feel helpless. I don’t want him to be in pain but also don’t want to put him through going to the vet again (he absolutely hates it) to be told that he is fine.
