Sudden vision loss?

I’ll start off by saying that I have a vet appointment tomorrow for my dog, i already know that she needs to see professional help.

So I have a 9 year old chihuahua. She has never had any health problems previously. Just last week I have not seen any changes in her behavior. But just starting this Monday, she was being reluctant going up and down the stairs of my home, in which just last week she had absolutely no problems with. I thought maybe she was just being lazy and wanted me to carry her.

But just these past two days, I’ve noticed that she cannot ‘see’ me. She’s suddenly running into things that is right in front of her. She can no longer get off my bed because I believe she cannot see the ground.

She has continued to eat, drink, urinate, and poop as normal. There are no changes in her behavior, she is still happy and sleeping fine.

I am absolutely heartbroken seeing my dog suddenly not being able to see. When I call her name, she looks around. When i try to make her do tricks, she no longer watches my hand that has the treat.

I’ve tested her eyes at home by running my hand above her eyes to see if she would blink, which she has.

Has anyone else experienced this? Like I stated before, she has an appointment with my vet tomorrow morning so hopefully I will get some answers but I don’t know what else to do. I’ve been crying the past several days over this.
