What do I do with my excess insects from feeding my Fire Bellied toad?

Hey all I have a bit of a recurring problem that has been nagging me for ages now. I have one fire bellied toad (Jason Funderburker) and for a while now I have I’ve been feeding him wax worms exclusively since he’s gone off crickets for some reason.

He really loves the wax worms, I can see the look of enjoyment on his face when he eats them. However, he’s just one boy and every time I order waxworms I get around 50. I usually feed him two to three every other day which unfortunately isn’t enough since the worms usually begin to pupate before he can eat all of them.

I love moths and it pains me to do this but every time this happens I’m forced to drown them and throw them away since he will not eat them as pupa or moths and I cannot let them lose into the environment for obvious reasons.

I know an obvious answer might be to freeze them but I currently cannot do that since the people I live with are disgusted with that proposal (which I understand) and there’s only one freezer. Otherwise I’m kind of stumped, I keep drowning and feeling pretty bad about it that I’m essentially wasting insects + it would be ideal not to have to buy so many of them for my one frog. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
