My roommate is getting a cat, but I have a slight fear of cats. How do I get over my fear and how should I approach the cat? I'm very inexperienced with them, so I don't know how I approach the cat and pet it without making it afraid of *me* and lash out? I don't want it to bite me or scratch me. How do I also get it to like me?
