My collie mix named Ozzie (15m) has been my best friend and companion since he was a wee pup. He has been in great health despite a mild fatty growth on his abdomen. Right up until 2 days ago. Suddenly he’s decided to chew off the growth and has left a quarter size gash on his side. During those days he’s stopped eating and been secluding himself in closets and under beds which is very unlike him. I have a vet appointment today and I’m scared with his injury plus his age they’re going to suggest I put him down. Is it too much to hope they can patch him up and make him comfortable at least through the winter? He loves the cold so much... I don’t really know why I’m posting I’m just so wrecked over this and don’t want to lose my best friend. I also don’t want to make him suffer, he deserves better.... I just wanted to talk to some fellow animal lovers about their experience with this kind of heart wrenching choice.... thanks for reading
