I recently discovered my dog has a rotten tooth his vet didn't notice away his last appointment. He's showing all the signs (goopy eye, yawning alot, dropping food occasionally, and of course the rotten tooth) of abscess now. Ive talked to the vet and they say 1200 dollars to put my 14yr old golden lab under and do an extraction.
I don't feel like he would survive that or long after that. His hips are giving out as well. And I'm living paycheck to paycheck.
Is there anything I can do to alleviate his pain? How do I know if it's his time to be put down? I don't want him to suffer.
