Cat has started a really odd behaviour and I am deeply concerned. I don't know what to do.

My Bengal (5 years old), has suddenly decided our floor is lava, watching her maneuver from her food to the back door is like watching an Indiana Jones movie. She also won't come in the house (unless she sneaks in the kitchen window where she can run across benchtops and things to get to her food without touching the floor and then back out), and is now sleeping in a box in the garage (perfectly normal day to day daytime behaviour), but she has never slept outside for more than a night (and only ever one of those hot Australian nights and never the entire night).

I feel like she is weirdly trying to communicate something to me (i know it sounds weird, but pet owners will get me). A few times i've seen her standing a 2 metres away from the backdoor and makes eye contact and clearly wants to go in and then she just freezes up. I picked her up just before when she did this and put her down on the floor just to see if i was imagining it all and bam. What normally would take her 12 steps took 3 and was off the floor. Ate like it was her death row meal and went for the window which was closed and locked. I put her on the floor and she ran and jumped straight onto the freezer chest next to the backdoor and when I opened the door she lunged out. I felt awful but had to figure out what was exactly up.

Had cats my entire life and never experienced anything like this at all. I will say she is also the most anxious cat we've ever had in the family. You'd think she was half meerkat with her paranoia. I truly never understood the term scaredy-cat until she joined the fam.

Just a quick note, she is drinking, eating, pooping and sleeping normal amounts. Haven't changed cleaning products for the floorboards, its the same one i've had for 6 months. I did notice her scratching since she has been outdoors 24/7, am going to comb and wash for fleas. I don't know if the 2 are related. But I am at my wit's end. I feel awful for her.

Any ideas what on earth is going on? Has anybody experienced anything like this and how did you deal with it??
