Am I a bad person for letting my mom put her cat to sleep

My moms cat is 15. The cat has hyperthyroidism which is being treated. If it weren't for me, she'd probably be dead now, because I noticed its symptoms, and took it to the vet. Although my mom pays for the meds, and food. Well. The cats showing some minor signs of kidney desease, and last time she went for s checkup the vet said which for kidney symptoms, because he kidney function is a little on the low side. Well, If it ends up being kidney disease, I'm thinking my mom would want to have the cat put down, as neither of us make much money, and from what I hear, treating kidney disease is a bit expensive. Would I be a bad person if she did want to put the cat down, and I let her? These are her symptoms, her breath smells slightly foul at times, but at other times smells fine. Also, the one time I see her drink a day, it's about 15 seconds but I mean, I get thirsty a couple times a day, and I dont have kidney problems. I just wouldnt be worried if the vet hadn't told me to keep an eye on her water consumption, because her kidney function is q little low. Would I be a bad person if I didnt bring her to the vet asap?
