My dog (10-month-old female hound) in the past 3-4 months has developed a fear of kids. She never gets outwardly aggressive towards them and sometimes she ignores them completely, but she fairly often puts her tail between her legs or barks quite loudly at them while trying to hide behind me or my wife. We had introduced her to loads of kids when she was really young, and she always acted just fine. Then all of the sudden, NOPE!
I know the easiest answer would be to just keep her away from kids forever... But is there any safe way to help her overcome this fear? Between our friends’ and siblings’ kids, and some point my wife and I will want to have kids of our own, it would be really nice if we could help her here. But I also don’t want to get her into a spot where she is scared or — heaven forbid — bites.
