So, my cat used to love my boyfriend. However a few weeks back a giant shelf fell on her while she was trying to climb it. My boyfriend heard what happened and rushed to help her. He carefully took the shelf off and then took care of her. She started avoiding him and running away when he came near. Then a week later, I was out of town and he was trying to patch a huge hole in the wall (from us having to take the wall apart in our bedroom to access the tub pipes.) He got an important phone call from work and turned to answer it. While this was happening my dear Calypso snuck into the wall and began to hide under the tub. My bf tried everything to get her out. Eventually she came near enough to bite him. Hard.(He has 4 bite holes in his finger. When I came home, there was blood every where...) But when she bit him he pulled her out while she was still biting. (Like a fish on a reel). I think that when this happened she hit her head as she had a scratch on her head.
I think she thinks he tried to hurt her on purpose. Which he would never do. My bf would literally never hurt a fly. Like we took a foster dog in. He broke a ton of stuff while we left for two hours for the Christmas eve service. And he didn't hurt it or yell at it on anything. He scolded it but thats it.
My cat has gone from loving my bf more than me (even though ive had her since a kitten and hes only been around for 5 months) to hating him. If she sees him she runs away or hisses and growls and yowls... Its getting bad and he is frustrated. She will sometimes come near, cuddle me and even cuddle him. She will sometimes let him pet her and other times not. But its getting worse. He gives her treats and feeds her, is quiet around her and super gentle. Idk what else to do! It breaks my heart. He does have anger issues but doesn't take it out on pets or people. But im scared that if she keeps being like this to him he will get so angry he will threaten her. And I know I would have to leave him as she is my whole world. And my comfort animal.
ANY TIPS?!?! IM DESPERATE!!!
