my parents have had a very aggressive pit for about a year now, (he just turned 1), as well as a cat who is a few years old, im guessing 3 to 4. they've raised this dog ever since he was a puppy, but they take every chance they get to hype him up into being extremely aggressive towards strangers, to the point i'm afraid he may maul me if i make a wrong move around him. i don't know much about dogs, but i can tell he absolutely has no respect for my parents as he consistently growls, barks, and bares his teeth at them. despite this he's occasionally a sweet dog and will act fairly normal and fun loving. however, i've had to step in between him and the cat several times, as he likes to chase her and bite at her. i try my best to pick her up and keep her out of his reach until someone gets him to leave but he is a very large dog and can reach my height when jumping (5'7). i fear that one day i'll return there and that cat will be dead. are my fears likely? my parents reassure me the cat is safe, but a big part of me doubts it.
