Need Travel Advice!

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, so please be kind or remove if this violates the terms (or tell me where to put it). I'm moving from Japan to America. Korean Air changed planes at 8AM and canceled my pet reservation (we were supposed to check in at 1PM). Obviously, I couldn't leave him so I stayed too. They said they could rebook us for the 26th, but the same thing might happen again they didn't know.

I've called other airlines, and they said they'll tell us tomorrow if they can take a dog. But does anyone have any tips/advice/anything they can suggest? Beyond telling me I'd know in 1-2 months if I'd get a refund, Korean Air has been of no help. He's healthy, vet approved, neutered, and amazing. I adopted him a few months ago from a shelter in Northern Japan.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be amazing. It's going to be expensive to resolve, but I'd do anything to keep him safe. Thanks in advance.
