My 11 year old cat was peeing blood the other day, so we took him to the vet and he has cystitis. He keeps straining to pee but not much comes out. We have to give him 3 different medicines a day, one pill and two liquids. He’s extremely picky and anxious and won’t let us anywhere near his mouth. We’ve tried pill shooters, where he just threw the pill up after we got it down his throat, pill pockets, which he didn’t even eat, grinding it up into food, which he licks a few times then stops, and everything else we can think of. He won’t let us give him the liquids either, and if it does get in his mouth, 90% of it misses or he spits out. I’m very concerned because he needs to take these medicines but I don’t think he is getting enough of the dosages.
