Unexplained behavior even after researching. HELP.

Trust me. I’ve done research. My cat has ALOT litter space and depth in her box. Her waste is buried and covered. So finding more material to bury her waste isn’t a problem. I clean it daily. So it being dirty isn’t a problem. And I buy the same litter consistently. There is not a cat flap on the door.

But why does my cat scratch and dig at the walls inside her litter box. She goes in her litter box JUST to scratch. And it sounds like hard pounding to the beat of someone running.

Again, she just goes in to pounds on the walls. Not to even do her business. Her fur smells of her litter, makes the air smell of litter and spreads litter dust everywhere.

Why is she doing this. I’ve had 4 cats in my life and never have seen this done before. Does she just need a bigger box? Different litter? Do I need to trim her nails? they arnt super long. Please help.
