A 14yo dog going through surgery?

Any personal experience or vet advise is welcomed!

My dog has a massive breast cancer in her belly. Pus comes out of it, smells and looks quite bad. When she was seven she had uterus cancer and a glaucoma that costed her an eye; went through surgery and recovered at normal pace. When she was 10 she had her mouth throughly cleaned and the anesthesia almost killed her. We couldn't touch her, as she would scream in pain. We took her to the vet and were told she wouldn't make it too far from there. Luckily she recovered. She's now 14, looks and acts her age. Doesn't really look like the breast cancer is giving her any pain she didn't already have.

Anyhow, we took her to the vet as this ulcer looks worrying, and were told to have it removed, and that this kind of dogs are very longeve and she'd do well.

She's a poddle, it's all bones and skin. My mum and I don't really think is a good idea to have her go through this one and we were hoping she'll live well and happy for as long as she can, but we're no vets and have not had any similar experience before. She also has arthritis.
