Help! My 3 months old cat has fleas

Hello! I got the cat a few weeks ago, been to the vet twice (3 times including today) already to get the necessary vaccines and disinfestation pills according to her age. But she was always scratching herself more than cats usually do. On Friday (2nd appointment) we asked the vet why that is so, he said: "because of her fur, the fluff has to fall out and it itches her, you should start combing her."

We started combing and tiny white/grey dots were also coming out with some fur/fluff. After which she started to scratch herself even more. This morning my father did catch 2 fleas and also had an appointment for today at the vet to look at her again. He said, she has fleas and he put some fluid on her back against the fleas. Which takes 24h to kill the fleas off of her.

( The kitty has only been in the house and in no contact with other animals since she's been with us, and we also don't have any other pets/animals)

My question would be, if someone already had been in my situation what advice would you have about prevention in the future and getting rid of those fleas?

How and when is it the best to give her a bath?

(Read some ugly things that could happen to the kitty because of the fleas and I am really worried. I don't want anything bad happen to her.)

Is it possible that i already got the kitty with the fleas and took so many weeks for the fleas to really grow and show?

Thank you in advance πŸ₯ΊπŸΎ
