My cat is long haired and I've noticed the last 2 days he's got a matted piece of fur in the back of his leg. He also has been getting a little bit of poo stuck to his fur. I've managed to get the poo out, but now I'm really struggling to get the knotted fur apart. He won't sit still and I've tried to get my partner to hold him but he will just meow and fight back. Treats have helped to keep him calm and that's how I got the poo out. Can I cut his fur? How have you managed to get a matt out of you cats fur? I've researched online and apparently olive oil can help? With Coronavirus I can't take him to the vets at the moment, as they're only treating emergencies. Thank you!
