I've been raising a house sparrow for a little bit over a month now. Although she has access to a lot of food in her cage, I've caught her trying to swallow things such as chunks of plant food, paper, and hair around my room. I had to pull a strand of hair out of her throat once. Every time I see her chewing on something bad, i grab her and turn her upside down so the object will fall out of her mouth. I think because of this, she is now scared of my hands. Although she will fly to me, perch on my hands and shoulders (ect.), she doesn't like me petting her (which she used to love). Whenever I put my fingers in front of her, she bites hard. I don't want to scare or hurt her, but I also can't let her eat dangerous stuff. I have been cleaning my room more frequently and covering the soil in my plants, so she isn't chewing on bad stuff anymore, but she still doesn't like petting or my fingers. Do y'all think she's traumatized? If so, what should I do?
