To make the post concise, my kitten has been staying in the house for 1 week already. And recently, I tried putting my dog in the room my kitten was staying. Surprisingly, my kitten was already comfortable with the dog. The problem however is with the dog. He'd follow the cat everywhere to the point that his head is a few inches away from my kitten's head (when my kitten is lying down). I tried putting him in the room for 2 hours but he never calmed down and kept following the kitten.
Now, my dog is very kind. She's a pug-shitzu breed and she is really friendly. However, it still scares me that her mouth is so close to the neck of the kitten when my kitten is sleeping or that she may "lose it" anytime and might bite her. And based off her body language, the dog is kinda stiff with her tail not up. How do i make her less excited whenever the cat is around or how do i make sure the dog has no malicious intent when following the cat?
