Tldr: I have a male finch that is attacking my female finches and now that i think about it, he might have killed a female finch i owned in the past
Okay so I’m really desperate for help rn. I have a male finch that lives in a decently large cage with two female finches. I used to have another female but she was losing her feathers and acting lethargic. I put her in a separate cage and she seemed to get better. I wanted to give her a friend for a bit so she wouldn’t be lonely so I put my male finch Gizmo in with her. She died after a few days.
The two female finches I have with Gizmo right now are having the same thing happen to them. Both are losing their feathers and acting off. I caught Gizmo plucking them a few times. What should I do??? I love Gizmo, he’s always been my favourite. But I don’t want my two females to get killed because I’m really starting to think he’s the one doing this to them.
Apparently zebra finches are very social and always need a friend. I want to separate the two females from him but then he’ll be alone. What should I do?? I don’t want them dying but I don’t want Gizmo to die of loneliness either. Please help.
