Hi! I live with my boyfriend and his cat, and have done so for the past 2.5 years. This doesn’t happen when he’s around, but he’s currently away for a family emergency and will be gone for the next 2 weeks.
For some context, I feed the cat wet food morning and night, and she has dry food that comes out of an automatic feeder at 5:30 am. Every night since he’s been gone, she wails from 5:30 am- 6 or so. I wear earplugs and play a white noise, but she comes right up next to the bed yowling, and the noise easily cuts through all that. I’m a light sleeper and struggle to get back to sleep, even after taking another melatonin, and have been absolutely exhausted at work. She’s 10 years old.
I’m feeling very frustrated— does anyone have any ideas for how I can stop this for the next couple weeks? I’ve been playing with her every night, more than we usually do with her, to try to wear her out, but it’s not working.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
