My boyfriend and I recently bought a new couch, which the cats love. We have no problem with the cats being on the couch, but we don’t want them clawing on it and tearing up the fabric. So far they have been very good, instead scratching their cat post and cat tower, but I’m starting to notice fraying from them clawing at the couch’s surface. Do any cat owners have any advice about how to deal with this?
I have looked into using an anti-scratch cat spray, but I am worried about accidentally using something toxic or discouraging them entirely from sitting with us on the couch. I am open to other suggestions besides anti-scratch sprays.
