My friend and her husband are staying with me, they have two older cats (13yr male, 9 yr female). The female is literally the spawn of satan and we have to keep her quarantined because she’s insane. Hisses and howls at the door every time my cat (2yr male) walks by.
Demon cat has gotten out once before and gone straight for my cat. He’s got youth on his side and she’s a bit overweight so he escaped unscathed while we managed to block her off. That took 4 people and a legend blanket.
Fast forward to this morning, and my friends are away for the weekend and my husbands away as well. I’ve been feeding their cats, and this morning - got up to do the same. Demon cat ninjas her way through me while I’m running out the door and goes straight for my cat. She got him twice. There’s tufts of his hair everywhere. He manages to escape to a high shelf in my closet and she can’t get to him. It takes me an hour to get her back into their room because she’s acting like I’m conducting an exorcism.
Afterwards my cat won’t let me go near him, growls instantly upon seeing me and won’t let me inspect him for any wounds (she got a tiny scratch on her nose). He comes out after a while and I watch him (still won’t let me inspect him closely), but there doesn’t seem to be any blood and seems fine. However, 9 hours later I’ve noticed he’s walking very slowly, and almost like he has a limp and keeping his hind legs closed. He’s not jumping to his blanket shelf in my closet, but staring at it with his mouth half open. His eyes look sad and he’s sitting like he’s not really relaxed. Still growls/low meows when I try to pet him or get close. He also missed his litter box when peeing so I feel like somethings officially wrong. Also refuses to eat, even his favorite treats.
Our vet is closed and I’m freaking out. But he also hates car rides and the vet and I don’t want to traumatize him anymore then I need to. Any advice to how I can get him calmed down so I can inspect him closely? Any thing I should look out for? Even if there isn’t a visible wound, could he have broken something or sprained something? And yes, all his shots are up to date.
Sorry for the novel, and if you’ve read this far thank you. I’m sick to my stomach freaking out. He’s my baby. :(
