Do I have time for kittens (vs. adult cats)?

For background, I’ve been considering getting a pair of cats for the past year, but decided to wait until I move to NYC next month (as to not traumatize the cat). When I move to NYC, I will have ~5 weeks to be home 24/7 to monitor the new kittens before I start my job. Due to the long hours, I thought a pair of kittens (or cats) would be best so they don’t get bored/lonely. I was originally considering adopting a bonded pair, but due to family allergies have been highly considering adopting two hypo-allergenic kittens through a breeders. Is 5 weeks enough time to help kittens get comfortable? Any other advice on kittens vs. cats?

Again, I would prefer to adopt over purchasing, but hypoallergenics are far and few in adoption centers.
