I got an 8 year old cat three days ago from a woman who could no longer keep him. He is such a sweetheart and warmed up very quickly to us, but he is having a very hard time adjusting to my 8 year old dog. He will not stop hissing and growling at her when she is around, and acts terrified of her. The first night he got here, I made a space for him in the bathroom with his litter box, food, and water and I put a little cushion in the room that has my dogs smell on it. I thought it would be the best way to get him acclimated, but the next morning he was already wanting to come out of the bathroom and explore the rest of the house. He seems to have no problem feeling comfortable in the house or with me and my bf. He is very affectionate and wants to be pet constantly. The only issue is he is terrified of my dog. Any advice on getting him to be more comfortable would be wonderful!
