Is it necessary to wash cats that have fleas? We are attempting to get rid of fleas, but one of our cats refuses to be combed or bathed. We tried to bathe her and got plenty of punctures and almost got bit. Poor cat was so scared that she peed herself! She's also very particular about when she will let us comb for fleas. Both cats have flea collars and are on medicine that didn't seem to be doing anything, so we have been trying to take a more active approach. We are also washing all bedding, vacuming, and using diatomaceous earth.
