I have a feeling my bengal cat is being abused by my step-dad

So orginally the cat is my step-dads, she's about 2 years old and grew up with him.
She's very shy and hides away a lot, if you were to pat her, she'd pull away first, sniff your hand and then let you pet her. From what I've heard bengals are normally very energetic and love being with their family, but she's not like this whatsoever.

I was at my desk and from there you could see the kitchen and the door was closed but its a blurry glass door so you can roughly see whats up in there. I heard some odd noises and when I looked I saw my step-dad having a kinda tantrum or somethin, but soon realized he was with the cat and he picked her up and first hit her head, then kinda just dropped her onto the ground and kicked her too. He then quickly opened the door letting the cat out and closed it again.

Now I'm not sure if its what I really saw but I'm almost positive he was hitting her. I went to check up on her and she was hiding under the bed, when I tried to reasure her out, she just hid deeper and turned away from me.

I've seen him occasionally pick her up and kinda hit her head, but sometimes it was a little rough. My boyfriend told me that he's seen him kick her, but not in the kinda "you've been naughty" light kick. She doesnt really like to sit with any of the family, she hates being picked up and pulls away when you go to pet her head.

I've seen old clips of her as a kitten when she'd play with her toys by herself and jump around a lot, but looking at her now she's the exact opposite.

I'm really confused on what to think of this and I dont know if maybe our cat is just shy like that or my step-dad made her like that. Any opinions..?
