I found out this morning that my dog needs to be on "crate-rest" for two weeks as she has significant neck pain from a possible strain or disc slip. She was a rescue and has never been crate-trained, and we have only used her small crate as "time-out" 3-4 times. If I have to leave the house, I want to make sure she is secure and not jumping on furniture, etc., but I also don't want to use her crate, as she thinks of it as "punishment". Anyone have any suggestions?
For reference, she is a 14 lb. 6-year old pomeranian who is pretty chill. I'm thinking maybe buying one of those puppy pens and making it super comfortable with her bed, blankets, water etc. If anyone has recommendations, I'm all ears!
