Hi everyone, as the title mentions, my cat (almost 2 years old) won’t stop meowing. He is a fixed male, has the most wonderful enrichments, an automatic feeder that is always full, a water fountain, his litter is cleaned daily, he has multiple scratching posts, cat trees, and is played with three times a day. Our play sessions are vigorous and simulate hunting prey and lasts from 15-20 minutes per session. We’ve been to the vet multiple times about this issue and have been reassured that he has a clean bill of health.
He meows whenever he isn’t asleep or being played with. He chain meows to the point where his vocalisations are 1-2seconds apart and this can go on for 15 minutes on and off for the course of hours. They range from short yells or cries (that can be really loud) to yowling to sad little peeps. He is often pacing around the apartment as he’s meowing, it can be directed at us, but more often than not, he’s meowing at nothing.
The only other thing we’ve noticed is that on days when we’re home the whole day, he doesn’t engage in this behavior as much. However, during the week, as soon as we come home from work, this is his behavior the entire evening. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
