So, I will be adopting a parakeet in a couple days from an exotic animal rescue/hospital. I found out today when asking what the adoption fee is that there is none, birdie is totally free but they are "open to donations". Now, a parakeet at Petsmart is $25 if you just want to go and buy one but I did seek out a rescue in hopes of saving one who's really in need....Would $25 as a donation be too little?
