Hello,
My wife and I will be moving to the US from Eastern Europe in couple of months and we're bringing along our cat!
We are both extremely anxious about this. He will be flying with us as a carry-on and although I haven't went through this with the vet yet I would not go the sedatives route.
Our options as I see them are as follows:
- The fastest flight and with the least stops (regardless of the date/price) is 2 stops (30 minutes to 2 hours) and roughly 24 hours long.
- The alternative is to have my dad drive us to Munchen by car (12 hours+-), sleep there overnight, and have a ~16h flight with only 1 stop (less than 2 hours).
I'm seriously concerned how he will react. One of my main worries is also regarding bowel movement... not sure if he will poo/pee without a litter box but at the same time 24h+ seems a lot without any bowel movements. If he does pee/poo, how the hell do I clean him up? I was planning to put a cloth item in there to have a familiar scent. Any advice about this?
How would you go? Plane all the way or do some driving to not have an extra stop? Anyone been in a similar situation where they had to fly for 24h+ with their pet?
Thank you!
