At night she would lay on my young children’s face while they were asleep in their beds, and they would cry and flip out in the middle of the night. We would try keeping her in our room, but the cat would meow all night long, making her miserable and waking up the whole house every night. We couldn’t get rid of her, we love her dearly. She was the sweetest cat, but would always torment my young children at night. One day, we were grilling outback and the kids are running in and out of the house, and the cat wondered outback. She seemed like she loved it. We would let her outside and she wouldn’t want to come in. We left food out back for her and would go outside and hangout with her. My neighbors were leaving food outside for her also. Our cat would let them pick her up and cuddle. They took her inside and she started staying with them. My neighbor said they have another cat there who she loves to play with and she’s really happy. She said if we ever want to see our cat, we can. I’m upset but thinking this is probably the best interest of our cat. We work all day, and I think she was honestly bored and alone and not getting enough stimulation. Our neighbors seem happy to have her. I know this is a weird situation, but should I let the rescue know? I don’t know how this works.
