So I have experience with several cats, hamsters and guinea pigs. But that was in the Netherlands where we (living with my parents) had quite a lot of space and mild Summers.
Now I'm living in a quite small apartment in the center of Tokyo with my husband. Many apartments don't allow cats (nor dogs), but I really miss having a cutie to take care of and bond with.
So I'm thinking of a rodent (or pair) or hedgehog.
Which rodents would be fairly ok with warm humid Summers? Of course I would keep it inside, out of the sun and could put something cooling in the cage, but I can't leave the ac on all day when we're at work. Preferably also more active in the evening since that's when I'll have most time for it on weekdays.
I've been thinking of a pair of guinea pigs or a single hedgehog. I don't really want a hamster this time.
I'd like to hear any recomendations/opinions on other options too!
