Cat always affectionate, but suddenly EXTREMELY affectionate. Why?

Hey all,

So Luna is a 2.5yo domestic cat. We adopted her when she was 6mo, and she's always been super affectionate, getting close to us, requesting to be pet and offering her belly to perfect strangers (to her).

However, for the last few days, this reached another level.

For example, 15mn ago, my wife was going upstairs and she was following her and brushing against her feet. Then in the middle of the stairway, she tried to jump on her legs to get on her arms. Wife came back down and Luna was glued to get leg as she walked across the living room.

As soon as she'd stop, Luna would try to climb her leg to get in her arms, brush against her and meoooowww to be picked up.

It is suuuuuper cute, but we're wondering if there could be something to worry about?

Oh and no, she is definitely not pregnant.

Thanks,

Simo
