How often should cats visit the vet and how often should they have blood work done?

We have a very old cat we just took in and we want to take her in the vet to get blood work done and a checkup. We don’t think she’ll live long being she’s so old but if there’s anything we can do to prolong her life just a little we will do it. Our other cat is about 4 years and we took her only once to the vet to get spayed about 3 years ago. My other two , one went last year and then the other in 2019. How often should I be taking my cats for their checkup and shots? And how often should I get blood work done? My cats are all indoor and we usually take them when they’re sick or injured. I’m more aware of taking them now to get checkups because my 14 year old got aggressive cancer and had to be put down, we regret him not going in as often and never showed any signs of sickness until it was too late. We want to be more on top off yearly visits. How often should they be going?
