My cats LOVE Fortiflora. Just tonight, I left the empty packet on the counter and my cat jumped up and started tearing it to lick it clean. However, it’s super expensive for long term use. I’m looking for a basic and cheap flavor enhancing powder to use so my cats get back on grain free food instead of the Friskies they’re used to.
I found this: https://www.youngagainpetfood.com/flavor-enhancer.html But it has sodium acid pyrophosphate in it, which is the flavor enhancer friskies uses. I read it can cause stomach issues from over use, which is why I’m switching cat foods in the first place.
There’s this one too, which looks promising: https://stewartpet.com/product/flavor-enhancer/
I also read that nutritional yeast could work too. The ingredients in Fortiflora do have brewer’s yeast as a top ingredient, so maybe that would be useful.
Does anybody have any experience with either the Stewart’s stuff or just plain nutritional yeast? Or any other flavor enhancing powder?
