Leaving cat for a week, best options?

I’ve had my cat now for four months and I will be leaving for a week soon and I wanted to know what the best option is.

The cat is an only pet and he tends to like a decent amount of attention.

I know the opinion I see most is that it’s best to have a pet sitter or friend check in once or twice a day to keep the cat in a known territory.

That being said the cat isn’t really used to me leaving since I work from home all of the time and I am worried leaving for a week people stopping in for a brief time will worry him and he could act weird while gone. This makes me want to leave him at a pet resort for a week - and maybe before the trip have him go for a single day / night and see how he reacts ahead of time to a one night stay.

Wanted to get feedback and thoughts!
