I have been feeding strays in my backyard that have adopted me for over 7 years now. As of November of 2020, I had a total of 16 buggers. During the past month, they have been disappearing at an alarming rate. I also noticed that the ones that remain are very hesitant to eat their food which they at one point would devour without breath.
I thought maybe coyotes... but I don’t hear any sounds... to my knowledge coyotes are loud fuckers that cast a siren from their mouths when they’re hunting for something. It also wouldn’t make any sense that all of a sudden coyotes come out of nowhere as their has always been a ravine near me, and their have been no sightings in my area. I also run every morning around 5:30AM and have never seen one.
My theory/ suspicion is that a neighbour has poisoned all of them. It sounds a little out there... but I’m just curious to hear any theories you all might have. I have already come to terms with the loss and fully accept that they are deceased.
