Our 13 year old great dane/german shepherd mix in the past month has been having trouble. The first thing we noticed was that she would gulp down all water available to her to the point that she was throwing it up and peeing in her bed. We brought her to the vet for fears of diabetes but after a bunch of blood work and urine samples, they said it was a UTI and gave us some pills and said to just give her a glass worth of water every now and again.
She finished the pills and we delivered the new urine sample and the vet said she was good.. however, nothing's changed and in fact, she's been getting worse. She's been peeing in the house all the time (she hasn't done that since she was a puppy). She hasn't been finishing her dinner and randomly throwing up her dog food in the house. Its to the point that she's obviously lost a bunch of weight and has been a bit lethargic.
My wife is going to call the vet again tomorrow but I wanted to get some opinions.
