We recently adopted a catahoula/pitbull mix, and he's got a short, thick muzzle. He's also incredibly strong and pulls very hard on the leash, so we got him a head collar for walks to prevent shoulder and elbow injury. The problem is, he can't seem to get his mouth open far enough to get his tongue out, even though the nose loop is loose enough to slip off over the nose. Does anyone have a suggestion for dogs with big jowls and short, thick muzzles?
