Title. A local horse rescue has over 70 horses, and there are around 20 or so with health issues that arent being treated. Animal control has been out over 20 times over the years - the owner told me so himself - and nothing ever came of it. I know for certain that someone recently reported, and nothing came of it. The owner has had the rescue for well over 20 years.
Besides documenting the heck out of everything, does anyone have any suggestions? I DO believe the owner tries his best, but it's two guys caring for 70+ horses... one horse in particular that I'm worried about obviously needs his teeth floated (drops his food while eating) and has gone from slim to skin and bones over winter. I wish I'd taken pictures. Those with severe arthritis receive no meds. The owner doesnt believe in euthanasia, either. I've already watched one horse waste to death. He waited until she got to that point to try to bring her back with around the clock care, but it was too late.
