Hi All,
Just hoping to get some advice; I have just bought a golden retriever puppy last Friday - she’s 9 weeks old and absolutely beautiful. Everything started off really well, training has been going well, toilet training going well, happy puppy. She has a bed in my room and for the past week has happily slept there, or on the floor. But tonight she is whining/crying constantly and will only go to sleep outside on the balcony.
She’s well fed, has gone to the toilet and has access to water etc., but every time the door or baby gate closes (I’ve tried both) she instantly begins to whine and cry and scratch at the gate/door. I’ve even tried having her in my bed with me to calm her, but no luck.
Just looking for some help. I can’t leave her on the balcony, but also can’t stop the crying no matter what I try.
I’m the only one that feeds her and all training is through positive reinforcement, so she shouldn’t be scared at all of me. I’m just lost as to what to do?
