Recently I have come to the conclusion that my fiance and I should no longer be together due to him being verbally abusive, using my car for drugs, etc... Aside from that, he has two pet rats that he gave me but is signed in his name and I'm the only one who takes care of them. He claims they are his because of signing a paper from PetCo and he constantly neglects them. I really do feel in my heart that I need to take the pets but I'm afraid of legal issues if he decides to call the cops. That's my only worry at this point. The rats at this point believe I am their mother because I take care of them. Help?
