We have 2 dogs, a pitbull named Hulk and a lab/mutt named Bear. When we just had Bear he wasn’t much of a barker, but the two of them together are becoming a problem. They feed off of each other, and it doesn’t help that where I live (AZ) no one contains their pets, so there is constant parade of cats, dogs, (and the occasional horse) passing the gate and getting them riled up.
I don’t want them to stop barking altogether, since that is part of their job, but I also don’t want my neighbors to poison me, so my thought was to put some kind of no-bark collar on just one of them. I have been researching different vibrating/static/ultrasound/citronella collars but I can’t find a clear winner, and I feel like reddit usually has the most honest feedback.
